About the Treatment

What is Micro-Fragmented Adipose Tissue (Lipogems)?

Lipogems® is an advanced orthobiologic procedure that uses your body's own adipose (fat) tissue to support healing in joints, tendons, and ligaments. Using a closed, sterile processing system, fat is gently harvested, purified, and micro-fragmented into injectable tissue clusters. The processed tissue is then injected under ultrasound guidance into areas affected by osteoarthritis, tendinopathies, ligament injuries, and other degenerative musculoskeletal conditions. This is a minimally invasive, same-day regenerative procedure.

Your Experience

What to Expect

The procedure is performed in a sterile, accredited medical setting. After patient identification and procedural verification, local tumescent anesthesia is administered to the donor site, typically the lower abdomen or flanks. Approximately 60–120 cc of adipose tissue is gently harvested using low-pressure aspiration. The harvested tissue is processed in a closed sterile device to produce purified injectable tissue. Using live ultrasound guidance, the processed tissue is injected into the targeted joint or tendon with precise needle placement. The procedure typically takes 90–120 minutes.
